The installation of the Shimano Stages Power Meter follows the process as the manufacturer's recommended installation, with no changes to the process or torque specifications. You can download the instructions attached to this page or check out our video below.


Shimano XTR R9100 cranks follow a different set of instructions. Other 12-speed Shimano mountain bike cranks may also require spindle spacers. For detailed instructions, please search your crank model number on the Shimano Manuals and Technical Documents website.


NOTE: We recommend using a torque wrench any time you are installing a Stages Power meter in order to prevent damage to the crank or injuries that may occur if your crank arm comes loose while cycling.
