The user weight in Zwift is not directly connected to the weight entered in the Stages Cycling app. The bike does not receive your weight input from Zwift; it relies on the weight set in the Stages Cycling app to provide realistic resistance when simulating grades in Zwift. The user weight in Zwift is used to calculate your in-game speed since this uses a combination of watts, body weight, and aerodynamics.

User weight in Zwift

Zwift uses a few variables to decide how quickly your avatar moves through its worlds:

  • Power - Zwift gets this from a Bluetooth or ANT+ connection to your StagesBike.
  • User weight - As entered in your Zwift profile.
  • Other variables like aerodynamics and equipment weight, which are properties of your equipment selection.

User weight + equipment weight for StagesBike

The Stages Bike uses a few other variables to determine the amount of resistance to apply to the flywheel:

  • Flywheel speed
  • Gradient
  • Gear
  • User + Equipment weight

The user + equipment weight comes from the Stages Cycling app. To set these variables, you must connect to the StagesBike with the Stages Cycling app. To update your body (user) weight in the Stages Cycling app, go to Profile > Weight. The weight entered here will be used in simulation calculations until a new weight is entered.

Equipment weight is set on your virtual setup. To update your current virtual setup, go to Devices > Stages Bike > Setups > Select your virtual setup > Equipment weight. Tap the green check mark to push your changes to your SB20.
