Unplug the power cable from the bike.
- Unplug the power cable from the bike.
- Unplug both the left and the right shifter wires from the wire hub.
- With the 4mm hex wrench, remove the 3 screws on the back of the handlebar clamp and remove the top of the handlebar clamp and the handlebars from the bike.
- With the 4mm hex wrench, remove the 4 screws on the front of the handlebar clamp and remove it from the bike.
- With the Philips #1 screwdriver, remove the small screw on the back of the wire hub assembly. Be careful not to lose this screw.
- With the 2.5mm hex wrench, remove the two screws on the wire hub assembly. Note the plastic tab that always faces up.
- With the flathead screw driver, remove the back cover from the back of the wire hub assembly.
- Remove the wire harness from the PCB, noting the white wires at the top of the harness.
- Remove the 4 plugs from the sides of the wire harness assembly.
- With the Philips #1 screwdriver, remove the 4 screws in the wire hub assembly. Be careful not to lose these small screws. Remove the lid.
- Note the orientation of the PCBA relative to the plastic wire hub housing. There is no dark green design in the top left corner, while the extra plastic tab is at the top.
- Remove the PCBA from the wire hub housing.
- Insert the new PCBA into the wire housing. Ensure that the orientation is correct. There should be no dark green design in the top left corner, while the extra plastic tab is at the top.
- Reattach the wire hub lid with the 4 shortest Philips screws. The screw that is slightly longer is for the back cover.
- Note the three holes in the plugs, and the orientation of the 3 pins on the front and back connections in the wire hub. Align the holes and pins and gently reinsert these plugs. Do not force these into the wire hub. If the alignment is correct, they will be reinserted easily.
- Connect the wire harness into the PCBA. Proper alignment will have the wire hub oriented with the plastic tab at the top, and the wire harness oriented with the white wires at the top.
- Reinsert the back cover onto the back of the wire hub assembly and secure it with the remaining Philips screw, which should be the longest one.
- With the 2.5mm hex wrench, reinstall the two screws into the wire hub assembly.
- With the 4mm hex wrench, reinstall the handlebar clamp to the bike with the 4 screws.
- Reinstall the handlebars, the top of the handlebar clamp, and three screws into the handlebar clamp. Center and align the handlebars to your preference before fully tightening.
- Align the connector on the shifter wires so that the flat face on the connector is facing the front of the bike, and insert into the wire hub. Do not force these into the wire hub. If the alignment is correct, they will be reinserted easily.
- Plug the bike back in.
