Does the SB200 need maintenance?

Modified on Mon, 5 Oct at 8:47 AM

The SB200 utilizes a chain-free drivetrain, meaning there is no chain to lubricate and no drivetrain tension to regularly inspect or adjust.

For most riders, the most important maintenance task is simply keeping the bike clean. Regularly wipe down the frame and components, particularly after workouts that produce significant sweat, to help prevent corrosion and ensure long-term performance.

To clean the bike, lightly dampen a soft cloth with water and wipe down all exterior surfaces. You can read more about our best practices for cleaning here.

Monthly maintenance

  • Check the tightness of pedals and cleat bolts.
  • Inspect pedals and cleats for wear, including broken pedal bindings or worn cleats. Replace or repair as needed.
  • Check for and install any available firmware updates.

Yearly maintenance

  • Replace bar tape and inspect handlebars for corrosion.
    • For users who sweat heavily, this inspection is recommended every 6 months.
    • If corrosion is seen, replace the handlebars immediately.
