The Wi-Fi connection on a Stages Dash M200 or L200 is not constantly active since there is no need for Wi-Fi in certain scenarios. The following scenarios will trigger the Wi-Fi connection to turn on or off:
- Wi-Fi turns on at start up and checks for firmware updates. Turns off after ~3 seconds (depending on how long the firmware check takes) if no update exists.
- Wi-Fi turns on when a Wi-Fi action is requested, such as downloading a map tile, firmware update, or ride ending (for auto-upload).
- Wi-Fi turns off after 30 minutes of no Wi-Fi action present if it was turned on for a map tile, firmware update, or ride upload.
- Wi-Fi turns off when a ride is started.
- Wi-Fi turns on when a ride is completed (to search for a network to upload your completed ride).
