What do I do if the watt or RPM reading on my console drops to 0 intermittently?

If the watt or RPM reading on your console drops to 0 and then returns to an accurate reading, check the following items on the power meter and console. For wireless communication issues see the related article: What do I do if my console (display) is dropping to 0 or freezing?


Power meters

Gen. 1 / Gen. 2 power meters (971-0100 & 971-0101) checklist:

 Battery door on the Stages Power meter is in good condition and secure. 

Battery level is good. Replace batteries if needed.

Batteries are taped together.

Power meter firmware is up-to-date.

Perform a hard reset on the power meter.


Gen. 3 power meter (971-0103) checklist: 

Battery level is good. Replace batteries if needed.

Power meter firmware is up-to-date.

Perform a hard reset on the power meter.



Consoles

SIC1 console checklist:

 Battery level is good. Replace batteries if needed. Note: the SIC1 console on bikes with a self-generating dynamometer and console battery pack does not require batteries.

SIC1 console firmware is up-to-date.

SIC1 console Bluetooth radio firmware is up-to-date.


SIC2 console checklist:

 SIC2 console firmware is up-to-date.
